The FAR Validator is a desktop application that checks whether Fund Annual Return (FAR) spreadsheets for mutual and private funds are filled according to CIMA's guidelines. This ensures that CIMA's platform does not reject them when uploaded.
The FAR Validator works for both.
The FAR Validator currently runs on Windows. A MacOS version is available in beta—contact us for access.
The FAR Validator runs entirely on your computer. It opens a port on your computer, which it uses as a server, and a browser, which it uses as an interface. The browser allows you to interact with the server to validate the spreadsheets.
Yes. When you install the FAR Validator on your computer, everything runs on your machine and no data leaves your computer. When you use the online version, your files are deleted as soon as they are validated. Nothing is stored on our servers.
When installed on your computer, validation runs entirely offline. However, internet is required once during initial license activation to verify your subscription. After activation, you can validate spreadsheets without internet.
The FAR Validator offers both free and premium plans. The free plan validates your spreadsheets and shows summary results (total checks, passes, and failures). The premium plan provides detailed error reports with exact cell references and explanations for each validation failure, making corrections faster and easier.
See our pricing page for current plans and pricing.
Yes. The FAR Validator offers a free trial period.
